A: Honestly, it’s completely up to you. Engagement sessions are a wonderful way to get acquainted with your wedding photographer and it’s great practice being in front of a camera. Think of it as a test drive to see what it would be like to work with a professional photographer on your wedding day! The photos would make great thank you cards, save the dates, invitations, wedding décor, and so much more!

A: I like to tell my couples to wear something comfortable they’d normally wear on a special night out together and treat it like an anniversary. It is a celebration of your engagement after all!

Some quick tips:

• Coordinate with your partner and stick with solid colors, layers, and some light accessorizing that compliments each other well.

• Avoid being too matchy with your partner.

• Unless you’re going for a theme, avoid jerseys, big logos, and big colorful sneakers.

• Consider the environment you will be in. Avoid green if you’re taking photos at a garden.

A: I have your back through and through. I strive to make the experience as comfortable as possible at a pace that works best for you and your partner. I give gentle posing prompts and guidance to make you feel more confident and sexy!

I have tons of locations for any backdrop! I generally hang around the upper half of NJ, lower NY, Hudson Valley, and sometimes New York City. I’m totally open to suggestions and actively encourage my couples to participate in making these kinds of choices! Make it a place that’s meaningful to you or that matches your vision. I love coordinating with my couples and exploring new locations!

There are no fees if the location is in an area open to the public within a 50 mile radius West Milford, NJ. Anything above is $.75 per mile.

Engagement sessions in NYC & Long Island are a $100 travel fee.

Please be aware that some locations may require permits for me to take photographs. You would need to pay the fee to obtain the permit.

A: These engagement sessions last for one hour and I always begin 1.5 hours before sunset for the gorgeous golden hour glow. Mid-day sunlight often produces squinty eyes and harsh shadows which makes it particularly difficult to photograph in areas without open shade.

These sessions will likely take place on a weekday as most of my weekends are booked with weddings.

A: I keep an open line of communication. If the weather report shows 48 hours before our date that it will rain, snow, or have extreme temperatures, I’ll reach out and work with you to schedule a new date.

Or we can go shoot in the rain anyway for some stunning romantic and adventurous photos! 😎

A: Two weeks at most depending on how busy I am during wedding season.

After the session, I will personally go through the photos, pick out the best, edit them to my cohesive style, and deliver them to you using a private online gallery ready for you to download.

You can expect at least 40 images in your final gallery!

I do not give out RAW files.

A: Here are the requirements and guidelines for my engagement session giveaway:

• To qualify, contestants must be:

  • Engaged and in the process of planning their wedding.

  • Not have a wedding photographer already booked for their wedding.

• There are no fees whatsoever for winners unless the location you choose requires a permit, is in NYC or Long Island, or is beyond a 50 mile radius of West Milford, NJ.

• To ensure that the winners are truly committed, they must schedule a video consultation with me within 72 hours after the announcement to claim their prize so we can schedule the date for the session.

• Winners must sign a model release.

• I have zero expectations from you other than to show up with your partner with an open mind, looking incredible, hearts full of love, and ready to let loose and have fun! 🥰
